U.S. District Court – Southern District of Florida
The firm is co-counsel to AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF), a global non-profit organization which provides medical services to over 500,000 patients, in defending a federal qui tam case alleging violations of the federal False Claims Act. The case is being litigated in federal court in the Southern District of Florida.
The Relator-Plaintiffs, former employees of AHF, allege that AHF paid its employees to steer patients, who tested positive for HIV at AHF clinics, to obtain additional testing and other medical services at AHF clinics.
Recently, the court granted a motion to dismiss filed by MNR and its co-counsel, leaving only a small portion of the plaintiff’s allegations intact. The case has proceeded to discovery on the limited remaining allegations.
